Kenyans online ‘welcome’ Raila after he quietly jetted back into the country from Zanzibar

National Super Alliance flagbearer Raila Odinga jetted back into the country after his four-day long trip to the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar.

According to Standard Digital Entertainment, Raila came back into the country on Wednesday evening but was not received at the airport by supporters like he did when he was coming back from his trip to the United States.

According to Odinga’s advisor, Salim Lone, the former Prime Minister left the country due to unrest.

Though this time there was no crowd to welcome Raila, Kenyans took to social media to respond to the news of his return, with some bringing up the issue of the viral post on Facebook by a Zanzibar lady.

However, ODM communications Director Philip Etale watering down the issue, saying many people yearn to get photos with great men.

“Taking a photo with a great man is something many people yearn to. The excitement that drives one to the opportunity is enormous. That feeling... Yes the feeling,” Said Etale.
