All set for 2017 Presidential Debate
Deputy President William Ruto is with President Uhuru Kenyatta at the coast selling the Jubilee party agenda as they seek a second term in office after the August 8 election.

Debates Media Limited has set up an epic platform for presidential candidates and their running mates to debate one another on issues that concern the Kenyan electorate.

It is already evident that Deputy President William Ruto will not take part in the debate and had tipped Senator Beatrice Elachi or Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa to stand in for him even as organizers of the debate hold that anyone who is not a running mate won’t be allowed to debate.

On Sunday when State House Digital Director Denis Itumbi announced that DP Ruto was to brushoff the debate as they campaign alongside President Uhuru at the coast, the Mr Ichung’wa came out to say he was ready and energetic enough to take on the other running mates at the debate.

Media houses are set to broadcast the debate both on their television and radio outlets so as to reach as many Kenyans as possible.

Catholic University of East Africa will host the event.

The other running mates are;

Mr Eliud Kariara for Presidential candidate Japheth Kavinga,

Mr Emmanuel Nzai the running mate of the The Third Way Alliance candidate Ekuru Aukot

Joseph Orina Momanyi who pairs up with Cyrus Jirongo

Miriam Mutua the running mate to Prof. Michael Wainaina

Moses Marango who will be in for presidential candidate Joseph Nyaga

Abduba Dida's running mate Titus Ng’etuny.
