State must stabilise food prices to save the poor

The escalating prices of essential foodstuff are going to be the hardest nut to crack for the current regime as Kenyans continue to suffer. We can be sure that food prices will not drop any time soon as that has been the custom where prices of basic commodities rise mysteriously but take centuries to drop by a single cent.

Kenya boasts of companies such as Mumias Sugar, which has been dogged by embezzlement of funds, thus making sugar expensive for the ordinary citizen. The only thing that we might be proud of is that the price of salt has remained within a certain price range for quite some time.
