Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has come back to the political stage with new allegations.The outspoken governor has alleged that there is, a massive fraud and transfer of voters by some politicians from the jubilee side.
Joho claimed that the unnamed politicians were duping voters to transfer their votes to other areas so that they could tilt the voting pattern in Mombasa where he claims is the opposition stronghold. He said this was being done in jubilee's favor.
Speaking this afternoon in Uwanja wa Mbuzi polling station, in Nyali where he had gone to verify the detail of his voter register and encourage the people to vote, Joho urged the residents not to transfer their votes as he promised to ensure that a foot soldier of the opposition he stops the vice.
According to Joho, the government has given money to few individuals in the county so that they can dish out the money to the residents in a bid to woo them to transfer their votes and even to vote for Jubilee.
He said that some of the people who were registering as voters were being taken to very far polling station so that on the election date they find it hard to go and vote in those places.
The Mombasa governor said that they are aware of the ill motives the government has and they have put in place good measures to counter them.
He also said that that is a clear indication that the government is no longer going to retain power.
On the other had he assured the residents that the opposition is moving ahead as a united force.The governor asked them to rally behind the opposition to see to it that it clinches power come to the General election of 2017.
“Let us remain focused and united so that we send the jubilee government home,” said Joho as he addressed the residents.
Joho has been at war with the Jubilee administration in the recent past and he has vowed to speak the truth even if it means, him losing his life.
Elsewhere the cord Co- principle and wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has taken his voter registration campaign to Kibra. He has urged the residents of the largest slum in Kenya to register as voters because that is the only way their voice can be heard.
Kalonzo told the residents that the are ready for the 2017 election and they are going for nothing less, but victory.Kalonzo was accompanied with Nairobi governor Evans Kidero who will be seeking to defend his seat as the Nairobi governor.
