Coronavirus: Huduma Kenya announces the only services they’ll be offering

Huduma Kenya on Thursday morning March 19, announced the only services they’ll be offering as other government offices close over coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

Through a public notice, the huduma Kenya announced that they’ll only offer collection of processed Identity Cards and Birth certificates.

‘Huduma Kenya is committed to ensuring your safety during this Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. For this reason, we will be scaling down operations at the Huduma centres as of 18^th March, 2020. Huduma centres will only be offering two services; Collection of processed Identity Cards and Collection of processed Birth certificates,” read the notice by Huduma Kenya.

Huduma Kenya also urged those who will visit the centres to utilise the hand sanitizers provided and maintain a distance of 2 meters between each other.

Other government services such as KRA, Business registration, NHIF and NSFF services, NTSA and Kenya Power among others can still be accessed online and via mobile platforms.

On March 15, President Uhuru Kenyatta urged government offices, companies and businesses to allow employees work from home to help curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Where possible, government offices, businesses and companies are encouraged to allow employees to work from home, with the exception of employees working in critical or essential services,” said Uhuru.

On Tuesday morning, Milimani Law Courts held proceedings under a tree in a bid to minimize contact.

In photos that went viral, Nairobi Senior Resident Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe was seen leading the court proceedings.

Only two prosecutors, the court assistant and the magistrate got seats while all the others, including accused persons and their lawyers, were forced to stand.
