DP Ruto attracts rage from Kenyans after promising Kibra residents houses, jobs, training college if Mariga wins

Deputy President William Ruto on Monday, October 28, 2019, was in the middle of rants by Kenyans online for promises he made to Kibra constituency residents on Sunday, October 27, 2019.

This was after Ruto, during a public rally in Kibra, promised the residents a training college, jobs, houses among other goodies if Mariga wins the upcoming by-election.

 “I am also aware that so many youths here have no jobs, if you elect Mariga on November 7, on November 8 we shall sit down with him so that by next year we have a training college here,” said the Deputy President.

He further assured the youth that various constructions will be initiated in Kibra to tap on local labour to provide a source of livelihood for the thousands of jobless youth in the area.

This, however, did not rest well with online social media users who compared this promises to those unfulfilled by the Deputy President in the 7-year period, he has been in office.

Some of the contents include;

“47 stadia in every county, Laptops for class 1-3, peace in some parts of Rift valley, Job opportunities to youth below 45 years, not youths above 80 years, then we transform Kibra” posted George Oduor, a Facebook user.

 “We haven’t forgotten the 2013 and 2017 jubilee elections promises you made to the entire country, fulfill them first” added Joshua Akira, another user.

“I thought Ruto has been DP for 7 years now, who stopped him from doing all that??? He has been holding the second most powerful office in the land for such a long time without visiting Kibra. His endless unfulfilled promises are going to be his downfall. It’s sad some Kenyans still believe in him for change…” ranted Joe Safe Jumah.

“So what has prevented him from transforming it since 2013, I have always known him to be the DP of Kenya, Kibra inclusive” stated Lamech Nyandoro Aondo.
