Boda boda operator caught with schoolgirl chooses to die

Shock gripped Ololoipang’i village in Narok South sub-county after a boda boda operator committed suicide by hanging himself after being found in a compromising situation with an underage girl.

According to villagers, the deceased is said to have waylaid a standard eight pupil at the local Ololoipang’i primary school to his house before he was busted by the locals who saw them entering the house in the evening.

According to area Nyumba Kumi Chairman Joseph Kones,the deceased locked himself in the house when the enraged villagers got wind of the him engaging in the sexual act with the minor.

The incident took place on Monday evening.

“Some villagers saw the man dropping the girl at his house with from his motorbike and got concerned when the two entered the house together and locked themselves in,”said Mr Kones.

Kones said the enraged residents stormed the house and since the door was locked from inseide it was difficult for them to gain entrance but finally when they entered they found the man dangling from the roof of his house while the girl was crying besides him,”said Mr Kones.

The village elder said the case was reported to the police who visited the scene,recovered the body and arrested the minor for further interrogation at nearby Ololung’a police station.

“The girl has also been arrested by the police and will be taken to hospital to ascertain whether she had been defiled or not, “he added.

The body of the deceased was taken to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting post mortem examination.

Cases of defilement have lately been on the rise in the area.

Last week,three men were arraigned before a Narok court charged with gang-defiling a 13 year old girl in Narok North sub-county.

The Narok Chief Magistrate Wilbroda Juma directed the trio; Julius Ole Ashire, Moses Kankiriam and Tolimo Lesho be taken to a local hospital to undergo the test before they plead to defilement charges against them.
