NTV investigative journalist Dennis Okari on Friday morning revealed that he was on board a Silverstone Aircraft that was Eldoret bound and their pilot had to dodge potholes before taking off.
Okari also mentioned that he met some of the passengers who boarded the Mombasa bound plane that veered off the runway and crashed.
He added that the runway was slippery and they had a difficult time navigating past the potholes.
“I was on board @silverstoneair in the morning at 7:15am - Eldoret and met some of the passengers on that flight to Mombasa.
“The runway was very wet but what struck me was the potholes. Our pilot was literally dodging them as we taxied.
“We hit two of them hard,” he wrote.
Silverstone Air released a statement following the Friday morning accident stating, "We can confrim that our Fokker 50, 5Y-IZO, had an incident while taking off at 9:00AM ...
