Joho bashed for tweeting football matters instead of Likoni Ferry tragedy

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho was on Tuesday bashed for speaking about football matters at a time when two people had drowned in the Likoni channel.

Despite the fact that the bodies were yet to be found, the governor steered clear of the matter and instead, praised Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for earning a point against Manchester United in an English Premier League tie.

He also took time to congratulate Beatrice Chepkoech for winning gold in the women’s 3000m steeplechase finals in Doha.

“Congratulations to Beatrice Chepkoech for winning gold in Women’s 3000m Steeplechase finals in World Championships in Doha.

“You have made us all proud,” he wrote.

This did not go down well with a section of Kenyans who asked him to empathise with the family of the victims.
