A 50-year-old Spanish woman was on Monday arrested at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for being in possession of an ivory bracelet weighing 0.025g.
The woman, identified as Pich-Aguilera Maria was en route Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, when she was arrested.
Kenya Wildlife Service officials reported that Maria was to be arraigned at the JKIA Law Court.

Maria's arrest comes less than a week after a French woman Laazibi Amal, who was transiting through JKIA from France to Dzaoudzi Island, was arrested with an ivory bangle weighing 0.85g. Ms Amal was fined Sh1 million for the offence.

Last year, a 52-year-old Chinese national, Zhang Ninighua, was arrested at JKIA with two elephant ivory bangles weighing 150g concealed in her check-in bag while on transit from Nigeria to Guangzhou, China. She was smoked out by the Kenya Wildlife Service canine section.
