Baringo Senator Gideon Moi yesterday called on leaders to work towards fulfilling what they promised the electorates in their 2017 campaigns instead of politicking.

Speaking at Kelelwa in Rongai, Nakuru County, during the burial of his aunt Eunice Jeptum, Gideon said time for 2022 politics is yet to come.
“You have heard, we have a journey ahead of us. But wait, let’s work to deliver the promises we made to the people,” he said.

The Kanu chairman warned those who think they are ahead of others, saying they will be shocked when the time comes.

For now, he said, Kanu is focused on supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta achieve the Big Four Agenda.

Some people, he said, were beginning to get worried yet the journey is yet to begin.

Big Four agenda

“For now, our focus is on supporting the President’s Big Four Agenda, we have agreed to that,” he said.

The Kanu chairman, accompanied by Rongai MP Raymond Moi and Former Cabinet Minister Musa Sirma, said no one should get worried of the unity he has forged with several leaders as he is doing so for the good of the people of Kenya and out of friendship.

“It is through unity and meeting other leaders from across the country that we will be able to assist Kenyans,” he said.

Sirma said some leaders have a problem with his decision to work with Gideon, warning that he should not be part of anyone’s agenda.

He said some leaders have been going round telling people that he (Sirma) has added weight instead of selling their agenda.

“If you don’t have an agenda, leave those with vision to lead the people,” said the former Eldama Ravine MP.

He said his support for Gideon and Kanu will not be shaken.

The leaders mourned the late Jeptum as a woman who loved all. “I found in her a glamorous lady, sophisticated and with class. What impressed me more was the love she had for Christ,” said Gideon.

Raymond said they have lost a mother, the last of their aunts.

“We will miss her physical presence, but we are happy that she is with the Lord. Her memories will live on,” he said.

Among Jeptum’s siblings was the late Lenah Moi.
