Is the ministry of education overwhelmed over the Form One admission programme or are some officials simply making a kill out of it.
This was the question some head teachers were asking themselves after it emerged top officials at the ministry were using the National Education Management Information System (Nemis) programme to admit students they want to specific schools.
This is contrary to the earlier plan to enable the programme equally admit students from all parts of the country.
“We think some officials are now using this thing to enrich themselves. Tell me how one private school can six of its students called to one national school,” said an official aware of the exercise.
