Obado’s wife Helen to be interrogated over Sharon Otieno’s murder

Nearly two weeks after the brutal murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno, the DCI has summoned Migori county Governor’s wife, Helen Obado for interrogation as a person of interest in the case.

Migori First Lady Hellen Obado is expected at the Migori police station on Wednesday as journalist awaits her on the Station.

Migori governor Okoth Obado admitted to the police that he had a relationship with Sharon and was responsible for her pregnancy.

According to police officers who have seen his statement, the governor reportedly said he had told Sharon to keep the pregnancy and was ready to take care of her and the baby.

Sharon Otieno was a student at Rongo University and was abducted and brutally murdered.

She was in the company of Nation journalist Barack Oduor who managed to get away from the kidnappers upon noticing something was amiss.

Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s PA Michael Oyamo was adversely mentioned in the events surrounding the abduction and is currently locked up at Muthaiga Police station as detectives seek to bring the matter to an end.

Obado, on his part, has distanced himself from the murder and urged the relevant authorities to speed up the investigations and bring the perpetrators to book.

The deceased’s family on Wednesday asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to step in and ensure justice for their daughter who was a second-year student.
