According to the transport body, the bus, KCL 414C, that was being driven along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway on Tuesday belonged to RENGCOM company.

The bus labelled ‘Kawere’ is licensed to operate on the said route but had flaunted several rules.

Hillary Shikuoko Panyola was identified as the driver and further analysis revealed he was driving beyond the legal limit of 80kph.

NTSA revoked Panyola’s Class A endorsement and PSV license before summoning RENGCOM officials to its headquarters.

The said vehicle plus other buses belonging to the company are set to undergo re-inspection to verify the functionality of their speed governors.

NTSA further urged members of the public to remain vigilant in reporting such cases to ensure sanity is maintained on the road.

This is not the first time such a video has been taken. In April 2018, a bus belonging to the same company was seen overlapping dangerously, almost forcing an oncoming vehicle off the road and the clip was widely shared on social media.

Road accidents are one of the major causes of death in Kenya and several regulatory bodies have often called for careful driving to save lives.
