Man United fear Jose Mourinho could quit at the end of the season following his latest trips

There is a blanket of ‘fear’ that has been cast upon Manchester United fans as reports this morning claim that Jose Mourinho could quit at the end of the season.

Mourinho is having one of the trickiest seasons of his career, managing a Man United side that looks good on paper but can’t match their rivals’ quality on the field.

According to the Daily Mail, Mourinho has increased the frequency at which he travels back to his home in London and has become more detached with staff.

Observers claim that Mourinho is experiencing the ‘Third Season syndrome’ with the Red Devils yet he is in his second season as manager.

Mourinho is also seemingly spending less time in Manchester, with the number of journeys back to London starting to worry the Man United faithful.

He still lives in the Lowry Hotel while his wife, Matilde, who decided not to come live with him in Manchester lives in West London.

Sources claimed that he used a private jet without the knowledge of the club on 24th December and on Christmas day to travel back to London. The club never paid for the trip.

The manager recently complained about the club not spending enough to compete with Manchester City for the title, even after the club splashed more than 250 million euros in the last two seasons.

Sportsmail reported that Mourinho’s lashing out at United’s spending habits was aimed at the board, suggesting a rift between him and the top management.

He is guilty of criticizing United legend Paul Scholes after the former midfielder blasted Pogba’s method of play. This has also created room for speculation since his disgust with the class of ’95 was evident.

When asked about Scholes however, Mourinho said that he was proud to represent the club and does his best on and off the field every day to make it better.

Though Mourinho has openly disagreed with the purchase and selling of some players by former coaches’ Louis Van Gaal and Davis Moyes, it is impossible to deny that he has improved the players and even got the club back to the Champions League. In his first season, he won 3 trophies, making a statement of intent at what he plans to do for the club.

Unlike Mourinho, Van Gaal and his wife had a house in Manchester, Cheshire to be specific and even dined with the locals in nearby joints.

Some Mancunians feel Mourinho does not understand what it means to manage Man United and that a manager who is more in touch with the players and with the community would suit the Red Devils better.

Could Mourinho leave United? After just two seasons in charge?
