The High Court has struck out a petition challenging the election of Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan.
Justice Luka Kimaru dismissed the suit filed by Wiper Party candidate Ibrahim Ahmed alias “Johnny” for failing to deposit security fees of Sh500,000 as required by law.
“Failure by the petitioner to deposit security of costs within ten days after filing of the suit, renders the petition incompetent,” ruled Justice Kimaru.
In his affidavit filed on September 7, Ahmed claimed the parliamentary poll was not conducted in accordance with the law.
