  • They were not discouraged by police who engaged them in running battles.
  • They then marched to Uhuru Park to await Raila's speech.

National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters gave a grand welcome to leader Raila Odinga after his 10-day long trip in the United States.

Raila, who landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) was welcomed by numerous supporters who had engaged the police in a tussle to get into the airport.

The supporters marched towards the airport earlier today despite being warned by the government. They disrupted traffic on Mombasa Road when they hurled stones at motorists.

After leaving the airport, Raila led NASA leaders and supporters through Jogoo road to Uhuru Park.

Supporters, who had come out in large numbers did not fear the police and they endured tear gas exchange during their march.
