Kenyans shower Sonko with praise after brilliant plan to trap corrupt chief works

Kenyans have moved to social media to heap praise on Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko after he exposed a chief believed to be extorting money from clients.

The chief is said to have been approached by the family of Mohan Singh Dhanjal and Satwant Singh Dhanjal to help them get rid of cartels bent on evicting them from their land.

The Dhajvals own a piece of land in Parklands and were keen to keep it.

Reports say that the chief demanded Sh30,000 for ‘protection’ before he could start handling the Dhanjal’s case. This was the exact moment when the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission officials pounced on the corrupt officer.

Sonko, on his Facebook account, narrated how the Indian family had approached him and vowed to eradicate corruption in the county.

He said that the family had occupied the and since 1974 and were receiving threats from cartels about it.

When the Dhanjal's contacted Sonko, he asked them to report the matter to the EACC - Who would later accompany them to the chief.
