Do you realise the impact of your words on a young democracy? - Kenyans react to Uhuru's statement

Impeach him? Change the Constitution? Mr President, do you realise the impact of your words on a young democracy such as ours? Do you realise that, what you are suggesting is not democratic?

That it is not the rule of law, but a rule of terror by numbers? Mr President, let’s assume that you succeed in doing so, do you realise that you will have set Kenya back to the dark ages?

And for what exactly Mr President Sir, that you can rule for one more term? Your words sir, send a chill down my spine... I just hope and pray that you will never bring yourself to such disrepute.

Peter Kibor

The President should be preaching message of unity not polarising the country further.

There are grounds set by the Constitution for impeachment of a sitting president you can’t just impeach him because he won and you got tyranny of numbers. It doesn’t work like that and Uhuru should know better.

I wonder who has been advising him lately.

Dru Levi

Mr President Sir, as a good Catholic, you should not be saying such. Kenya is one. You will be polarising the country before elections.

Speak through your foot soldiers but you should have maintained calm. Do not panic, just campaign. Tell Kenyans to choose one of you.

If you are defeated just accept because you will come back and serve for 10 years, making you the second longest serving president.

Accept the outcome without threatening anyone. Kenya is bigger than anyone.

Emmanuel B Simiyu

Three months is a lot. Raila gets elected, he puts in a NASA-friendly KDF commander.

If Jubilee tries and successfully impeaches him, KDF takes over the country’s leadership, then we’ll have fresh elections for all elective positions.

Three months is a lot to change so many things, NASA will buy most senators, there will be no impeachment.
