Police put off protests in Mathare North [PHOTOS]

Following the announcement of Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner of the just ended presidential election, reports have emerged that youths have taken to the street to protest the result, prompting the deployment of police.

Police put their efforts in dispersing charging crowds in Mathare North and Kibra, using tear gas and shooting when necessary.

It has been reported that several have been injured, with the Kenya Red Cross stepping in to assist the wounded.
