Why women and girls could be the luckiest under a Raila Odinga presidency

NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga has said he that he has done nothing that deserves investigations even a Jubilee party’s National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale calls for authorities to arrest him.

The ODM party leader said the calls for his arrest were abject scare mongering from the ruling which he said is the only campaign tool his opponents were now left with.

Mr Odinga has insisted his sentiments on land and white setters had been misinterpreted and pledged that his government would ensure that land injustices were resolved in the Rift Valley and Coastal region when they rise to power.

He promised that NASA would seek to implement chapter five of the constitution on to ensure equitable access to land, securing land rights, transparent and cost effective administration of the resource.

This will imply that NASA shall have to fight for elimination of gender discrimination in laws, customs and practices related to land and property.

The constitution also provides for encouragement of communities to settle land disputes through recognised local community initiatives.

Raila had faced criticism over his sentiments that had appeared favorable to land conflicting communities while to the Jubilee leaders it appeared hate on ranch owners.

This has led to the arrest demands from Duale and the intervention of Interior CS Nkaissery over the matter.
