ELECTRONIC SYSTEM Vs MANUAL SYSTEM AS A BACK UP

With four days remaining for the US elect president Donald Trump to take over leadership from Barack Obama. When he took leadership many countries were worried. For now, Kenya is more worried than any other country. Trump seem to focus more on African countries and Kenya happens to be top on his list of review.

Trump has sighted massive corruption going on in Kenya and he has promised to deal with it.Trump has questioned the health and defence sector on the funds that it receives from the US.He promised to punish Kenya should he find out that the funds given to her were misappropriated.

He majorly had a problem with how the Kenya Defence Force under the African Union Mission in Somalia (Amisom) is conducting its operation in Somalia. There are claims that the El Adde attack which led to the highest number of causality was due to corruption whereby the soldiers were not equipped well to gather intelligence reports and also repulse the attackers.

There are fears within the government that Trump’s remarks may soon steer the government in a different direction. According to undisclosed sources, the government feels that it will cost Kenya if the US government under Trump leadership withdraws the support they have been giving to Kenya. At one point they feel that this may be used to discredit the government and give the opposition an opportunity to capitalize on that.

Some of the soldiers who did not want to be mentioned said that they are not paid according to the agreement they signed when they went to Somalia. Others complained that they have to bribe their seniors for giving them a chance to go to Somalia. It should be remembered that the war against Al-Shabaab if it is lost because of Kenya not having good ties with the USA then it will have a great impact, not only on Kenya but the Eastern African countries.

Trump wanted to know why the fight against Al-Shabaab in Somalia has not been successful yet there is a lot of funds that have been pumped into that mission. “The US government has been supporting the African Union to fight the Al-Shabaab insurgents in Somalia yet there is less that has been achieved why?" Trump wondered.

Donald Trump has hinted that he will not work with African leaders who are corrupt and he will not allow them to continue oppressing the poor.He promised to push them hard until they do what is right.

Trump seem to be worried about African commitment in fighting against terrorism and he has asked his security to find a way they can safeguard their security interests and those of African countries.

Meanwhile, the Kenyan government has responded to corruption claims saying that as a country they have done their best and there is no money meant to fight Al-Shabaab that has been used badly. They promised to work with the US government in an effort to bring sanity in Somalia.
