WHAT WAS THE REAL CAUSE OF THE NAIVASHA ACCIDENT?

On the night of 10th December 2016 along the Naivasha-Nakuru highway, a lorry carrying inflammable material caught fire that spread to ten other vehicles leading to the death of 44 people. Barely hours after the accident, eyewitnesses gave an account of the lorry having lost control after hitting a bump, bursting into flames that spread to other vehicles.

That was immediately taken up by the media, the ministry of transport, the ministry of internal security and even the President as the cause without any further investigations being done. Many questions arise from this accident.

Who was the driver of the lorry? How often had he traveled along that highway? Was there traffic jam at the time of the accident as was accounted by some of the people that were involved? If the substance being carried by the lorry was indeed that highly flammable, why did we still have intact empty jerrycans at the scene hours after the accident? Did the driver of the lorry deliberately ram into the other vehicles? What if the driver was in questionable health that deteriorated or had a heart attack? This accident should be thoroughly investigated and the state should not jump to conclusions.
