This is why you are struggling with social media addiction

News

With the number of smartphone users increasing by the day, social media has witnessed an upsurge of users in the recent past.  In fact, it is slowly clinching the top position among the leading addictions in the digital era. Affordability of smartphones is, in a great way, a catalyst to the ever increasing online population. The young adults and the low income earners, who have had limited options of accessing the internet, can now use smartphones.

Most people will prefer chatting up their pals on social media to escape a real life conversation. The pleasure that comes with late night conversations, with majority waking up to keep the conversation going at the expense of their daily businesses, can be attributed to the sleep deprived eyes, dozing off at work and other kinds of exhaustion exhibited at the workplace. The memes, funny videos and the endless fun seems to outweigh the cons of having to deal with the aftermath of overdoing social media.

Majority of social media users will not have a specific reason for logging into a social media platform and, thus, find themselves wondering (aimlessly) between posts until they run short of data bundles if not for a dead battery alert.  With posts streaming in every second, two hours of idling on these social sites seem like just a moment ago. WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook and other social media applications are, therefore, a favorite to most smartphone users while other applications such as the Bible trail behind.

This trend, often, culminates into social media addiction. Teenagers with access to smartphones and young adults can admit to struggling with this type of addiction. With self-control and having an aim for what one intends to gain from social media before logging in is a therapeutic course towards overcoming social media addiction.
