Why Raila Odinga is the best president Kenya never had

Love him or hate him, the Kenya we have today has in one way or another been shaped by one man who has always been keeping governments on their toes. From the days of one party state to the multiparty democracy we enjoy today, there is no one who has influenced Kenya's political scene more than the former PM Raila Odinga.

Having never tasted power of the presidential seat, he has still done more for the Kenyan people than any president has done since independence. From fighting for and achieving multiparty democracy, to enjoying the fruits of our new constitution that we fondly call the most progressive in Africa. These are fruits of one man's policy of never giving in to government harassment.

When Kenyans came together and said Kibaki tosha, it was Raila again who was kingmaker. There was never really any credible opposition to the government under Uhuru Kenyatta but through back stabbing ungratefulness, the NARC government fell apart and Raila was soon back to what he does best, opposing.

There is really no credible opposition in our country without this one man being in it and there might not be an opposition leader in the world who has achieved more for his country than Raila has for Kenya. If Raila ever won the presidency, who in Kenya would be leader of opposition? Who would oppose the one person who has shaped Kenya for all it is now?

We still don't know what he might do for Kenya as a president and we may never get to know, but him being in opposition has achieved more good for Kenya than all our presidents have achieved combined.
