Our leaders not living up to their titles

Leaders should lead people in a good way, by setting good examples and being good role models.

In Kenya, however, some leaders have misled us. Why were they humble and giving great promises when they wanted our votes only to later go back on their word?

Just some weeks ago, some leaders proposed a bill blocking the media from accessing information from the Parliament. Fortunately, this fell through.

Then there is another proposal to offer special travelling passports to their spouses. Why are the lawmakers taking advantage of their positions? Some steal billions of shillings from the Government in the name of "bench-marking tours".

Why are they misusing citizens' taxes, yet they are not doing anything to develop this country?

Here's my advice to leaders: If your only aim is to fill your pockets then do not vie for any seat next time. At times one wonders why we Kenyans elect leaders who do not have the future of Kenya at heart. Our leaders only think of today. What a pity!

Majority will always overpower minority but Jubilee MPs, are really misleading this country. The 11th parliament is one of the worst that Kenya has ever had. Why can't the ruling party MPs listen to what their opponents have to say?

Remember, unity is power. Leaders need to work together and accept mistakes as well as be ready to be corrected. We should not only pray about Deputy President William Ruto's case but also remember the internally displaced persons.

I wish the coalition government would have lasted up to date so that you learn from their system.

The President should be left to do his work and be firm to warn the legislature whenever they are making illegal laws and should not support them at all. Also, our leaders must wake up and fulfil their promises or else they go home.

As citizens we should elect those who respect us, are ready for correction and see where Kenya will be tomorrow. If we are not serious, Vision 2030 will turn to Vision 3020.
