20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer has withdrawn from participating in the French Open.

This comes a day after the Swiss tennis star beat Germany’s Dominic Koepfer the third round.

Federer revealed he decided to withdraw from the competition to take care of his body, which has been through two operations.

“After discussions with my team, I decided that I should withdraw from the French Open today. After two knee operations and more than a year of rehabilitation, it’s important that I listen to my body and not rush back into competition,” said Federer on Twitter.
