Nairobi City Stars team manager Pudo is dead

Kenyan football fraternity is mourning following the sudden death of long-serving Nairobi City Stars team manager Neville Pudo.

Pudo, 63, who previously served as Tusker assistant coach and team manager between 2008 and 2012 before joining City Stars in 2014, collapsed and died at his house yesterday morning while preparing to go to work.

He died on the day when City Stars were to play against KCB in the FKF Premier League match at Kasarani Stadium.

Confirming his demise, City Stars CEO Patrick Korir said: “It is indeed sad news. The most unlikely news one could receive on a morning.

He spent a better part of the day yesterday in the office as we pieced up all logistics’ for our live game today at Kasarani.

“He was our father figure and a great mentor to the entire City Stars family. May our condolences reach his family and may he rest in peace.”

Pudo was part of the City Stars technical bench that helped them earn their promotion back to the top flight football this season.
