Seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton has been ruled out of the Sakhir Grand Prix in Bahrain following a positive coronavirus (Covid-19) test.

The Mercedes driver was tested three times last week including Sunday, November 29 when he sealed the 2020 title by winning the Bahrain Grand Prix.

According to Mercedes, Hamilton returned a negative result each time.

On Monday, November 30, Hamilton is said to have woke up with “mild symptoms” and was informed that a contact before their arrival in Bahrain had also tested positive.
