Kenya’s Indiza takes Day One lead in fifth leg of Safari Tour

Kenya’s Dismas Indiza carded an excellent four under par 68 gross yesterday to take Day One lead at the ongoing Entebbe Open in Uganda.

The competition being played at the par 72 Uganda’s Lake Serena Golf Resort club course is the fifth leg of the Safari Tour tournament.

The Mumias Club golfer is just a stroke ahead of compatriot Edwin Mudanyi going to the second round today.

Another Kenyan Sujan Shah is in third place on a two under par 70 gross.

Royal’s David Wakhu sits tied fourth on one under par 71 gross with Uganda’s Henry Lujja Bagalana.

Kenya’s Afred Nandwa, C.J. Wangai and Erick Ooko follow in joint fifth on a level par 72 gross each, a score they share with Uganda’s Ronnie Bukenya and Ronald Rugumayo.

The tournament ends on Saturday with both the local and regional professionals fighting for a share of Sh1 million prize money.

The competition is sponsored by Palm Golding Properties as the title sponsors and Serena hotels as the main sponsors among others.

They will also gain points for entry into the Magical Kenya Open Championships scheduled to take place at Karen Golf Course from March 12-15 next year.

The 2019/2020 Safari Tour legs kicked off at Mombasa’s Nyali Course on August 24.

It is expected to end at Kiligolf Course in Tanzania in a date to be communicated later.

It is organised by Kenya Open Golf Limited and sponsored by Magical Kenya and Absa, who also sponsor the Kenya Open.
