Nairobi City Stars went four points clear at the top of the 2019-20 National Super League following their 3-2 win over Kenya Police over the weekend, at Karuturi Grounds.

Goals from Ebrimah Sanneh, Anthony Kimani and Abdallah Salim handed head coach Sanjin Alagi? his sixth win of the season.

In an interview with Standard Sports, Alagi? praised his team for maintaining their tempo, being resilient and clinical infront of goal. He warned that their goal is to keep winning.

“We don’t want to play catch-up this season. Our aim remains to qualify for the Kenyan Premier League, therefore, I expected the boys to continue working hard and winning matches,” he said.

City Stars remain unbeaten and are top of the table with 19 points, four more than second-placed Bidco United, who lost 1-0 to St. Joseph’s Youth through Daniel Kamau’s goal.

In the meantime, Nairobi Stima dropped to fourth in the standings after losing 1-0 to Migori Youth at home, which ended their unbeaten run in the super league.

Stima have 14 points; same as Talanta, who drew 1-1 draw against relegation-threatened APS Bomet.

Ushuru, on the other hand, registered their second consecutive win after defeating visiting Shabana 2-0 and to move joint second place with Bidco tied with 15 points.

Modern Coast Rangers edged Paul Ogai’s Coast Stima 3-2 to emerge the winner in the coastal derby as former KPL side Vihiga United played out a 1-1 draw with Administration Police.

Vihiga Bullets on the other side thrashed Kibera Black Stars 3-1.
