Timmothy Cheruiyot is favourite for 1,500m gold tonight

Qualifying for the 1,500m final was a brutal test of endurance, but Timothy Cheruiyot, the world silver medalist has beaten the heats, semis with ease and he now targets the global title tonight.

Cheruiyot has won 11 out of 12 Diamond League meetings in the last two years and is set to go full throttle from 7.40pm in an attempt bring back the title being held by his training mate Elijah Manangoi who failed defend his title after sustaining an ankle injury.
