Manchester United's want away striker Romelu Lukaku trained with former club Anderlecht on Monday as he looks to push through a summer switch.

Lukaku is keen to quit Old Trafford and was strongly linked with Juventus in a swap deal with Paulo Dybala but that move has now fallen through.

Juve's Italian rivals Inter Milan remain keen on signing him and the forward is seemingly still working on his fitness as he patiently waits for a potential suitor to step up their interest.

Lukaku was given permission by United to train with Anderlecht, the Belgian outfit with whom the 26-year-old star started his professional career with before departing for Chelsea in 2011.

United's first-team were given a day off by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Monday, allowing the striker to return home temporarily to train with Anderlecht's youth team - he is due to report back to Carrington for United training on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is hopeful of finalising a deal for Manchester United striker Lukaku in the coming days.

The Italian club have been chasing Lukaku all summer and have reportedly returned with a fresh bid of around £65million as they try and get the deal over the line.

They have until September 1 to sign the Belgium striker, who has not played a single minute of United's pre-season campaign, and Conte is hopeful of bringing the 26-year-old to the San Siro.

"We continue to work on it in the best possible way," he said after his side drew 1-1 at Tottenham in a pre-season friendly.

"I understand there are some gaps that need to be filled but at the moment I am very hopeful that this will happen.

"At the same time I'm working with a great group of players that gives me lots of satisfaction."
