Action packed: What to expect this weekend in the amazing world of sport

European football leagues are the most-watched by Kenyan fans, making them an indispensable source of entertainment across the country and Africa at large. The English Premier League (EPL) is the most sought-after football league in Kenya.

As a result, some weekends can be so boring if there is no sporting activity around the globe to cover the break.

This weekend is quite different, with some mouthwatering action from the world of sport.

After months of intense training, the wheat will be separated from the chaff during the crowning moment for winners as Secondary Schools National Term Two games end in Kisumu on Saturday.

Mombasa FKF mini-league qualifiers

The qualification battle in the FKF Mombasa County League (MCL) will get underway on Saturday with Madrid, Ocean Stars and Kisimani fighting for the remaining slot. Already, seven teams have qualified for the mini-league following last weekend’s matches.

2019 Hungarian Grand Prix (Sunday 4, 2019)

Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton headed Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel in a tight first practice at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Friday.

Hamilton was 0.165 seconds ahead of the Dutchman. Vettel, who set his time with Ferrari’s latest aerodynamic upgrade, was just 0.001secs behind the Red Bull.

Red Bull’s Pierre Gasly was fourth quickest, 0.449secs off the pace.

Valtteri Bottas missed the entire session when Mercedes had to change his engine after discovering a misfire.
