‘New signing’ Victor Wanyama set to stay at Tottenham despite Ndombele Arrival

Tottenham will not sell any of Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose or Victor Wanyama this summer, it has been claimed.

The club and manager Mauricio Pochettino are in the middle of a massive team evolution and have already acquired signatures of French star Tanguy Ndombele and youngster Jack Clarke who will rejoin Leeds United on loan.

The Argentine Tactician has had to endure two difficult transfer windows in which he went without signing any players and now looks to strengthen using the available funds.

Apart from bringing in new faces, the North London club will also try to free up funds by selling some stars.

Denmark’s Christian Eriksen and Belgium’s Toby Alderweireld are among the obvious players who could be shown the door with both their contracts entering their final years.

But former player Pascal Chimbonda has other thoughts.

According to him, Tottenham will not sell any of Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose or Victor Wanyama this summer.

Wanyama is one of the players who had a nightmare campaign last season and reports in the UK have been pointing towards him leaving the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Chimbonda, who played for Spurs between 2006 and 2008 expects Wanyama among other stars to stay.

"Tripper won’t be sold this window and will remain Tottenham’s first-choice right-back,” Chimbonda declared to SportingBet.com.

“He clearly struggled last season, but he will be a completely new player now he’s had a summer to rest without any international tournaments.

"With [Serge] Aurier being injured throughout the season, it didn’t give Tripper a chance to rest when he needed it most.

“He’s proven he can play at the top level and you don’t lose that overnight. I expect we’ll see Tripper back to his best next season." He said.

“He managed to stay injury free towards the end of the season and played some much needed first-team football.

“He was a little rusty, but he can now kick on and start the season fresh. It’s important that he doesn’t push himself too hard as he needs to stay fit for the whole season to really get back on track.

“If he can do that, then he could be a vital player next season." He added.
