After winning a silver medal in the half-marathon and bronze in beach tennis, Kenya’s hopes of a gold medal went up in smoke after a beating by Namibia in the semifinals of the women beach volleyball competition.
With the teams evenly matched at 2-2 in the first set, it looked like we had a match on our hands. It soon went south for the hosts who fell to 8-3, then 11-3 before the first technical time out.
