SportPesa Premier League outfit Kakamega Homeboyz have sacked head coach Paul Nkata over match-fixing allegations.

Experienced striker Allan Wanga and goalkeeper David Juma will take over on an interim basis.

According to Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula, investigations will continue on seven players alleged to be involved.

“The two will be assisted by our technical director Eliud Omukuyia as we carry on with the investigations on seven players who have been involved,” Shimanyula said.

“We’ve already reported to the police with recorded evidence and written to the federation over the same. He has been using one of the players, George Mandela, to influence the other six with a figure between Sh50,000 to Sh200,000 per game,” he added.

Shimanyula claims some of the ‘fixed’ matches include those played on January 2 and 19 against Sony Sugar and Mathare United respectively.

Homeboyz lost 2-1 to Sony Sugar in Awendo and 3-2 to Mathare at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani.
