Manchester United have reportedly drawn up a six-man shortlist for the full-time manager's job, which will be filled at the end of the season.

The Red Devils sacked Jose Mourinho last month following defeat by bitter rivals Liverpool, and handed the manager's job to Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer on a temporary basis.

The Norwegian has made a positive start at Old Trafford and has guided United to three wins in his first three games in charge.

He's also reinstated an attacking style of play, which the likes of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford are benefiting from, and has watched his United side net 12 in three.

As a result of his positive start, Solsjkaer is in the mix to be handed the job permanently, but is in the hat with five other managers, according to The Sun.

The other names on the list include Mauricio Pochettino, who has been on United's radar since Mourinho was sacked.

The Red Devils reportedly made an approach for the Argentine back in 2016, only for him to turn down the Old Trafford club's advances.

United have the money to buy Pochettino out of his Spurs deal, but Daniel Levy will be keen to keep hold of his prized asset, especially as Tottenham prepare to move to their new stadium.

Another name on the list who has been linked with the Manchester United job for a long while is Zinedine Zidane.

The former Real Madrid boss boasts a sensational CV that speaks volumes and is currently out of work.

It was also reported last week that the World Cup winner met up with a Manchester United ambassador in Dubai, fueling talk that he's set to take the reins at some point.

Laurent Blanc was name-dropped as a potential temporary boss when Mourinho was sacked, and is reportedly in the mix for the permanent position.

Hoffenheim's young boss Julian Nagelsmann is also said to be in the mix, and shows the Red Devils focus on planning ahead.

Nagelsmann fits the mould of modern boss, alongside the likes of Jurgen Klopp, Pochettino etc. and could potentially build a new legacy at United.

The final name in the mix is a bit of a surprise: Marco Rose. The current Salzburg boss put himself on the map after leading the Austrian minnows to the semi-final of the Europa League last season.

His side also won the league at a canter, and look set to repeat the feat this campaign.

Rose played under both Klopp and current PSG boss Thomas Tuchel, and like Nagelsmann, is another young, promising, innovative coach.
