Ujuzisoka finally get their revenge - thrash Spain’s La Selva Del Camp 6-5

Ujuzisoka Academy got their revenge over La Selva Del Camp beating them 6-5 at Cambril Stadium on Thursday.

The Kenyans lost 3-1 to La Selva Del Camp last year during the Costa Daurada Junior soccer tournament, but it wasn't to be second time lucky for their hosts this time round.

Ujuzisoka Academy are in Spain courtesy of Koolton Sports Academy. The Kenyan contingent is made up of players from several academies in Nairobi.

Yashas Ganeshprsad put Ujuzisoka Academy in front after just 12 minutes when he latched on a long clearance by Richard Mwangi to beat La Selva Del Camp goalkeeper Sanchez Alonzo.

Kenan Njaabu the picked up the scoring mantle netting a brace with Micheal Olach, Jaf Maina and Ephrahim Hazel scoring a goal apiece.

La Selva Del Camp got their goals via Xavi Rodriguez, Eric Martinez, Hugo Martinez before Ujuzisoka’s Jaf Maina scored an own goal.

Koolton Sports Academy head coach Mark Miguel was impressed with the Kenyans’ display while singling out their physical approach to the game.

“Ujuzisoka players were very good physically and strong on the ball. But not good in keeping possession we needed to build the play well and attack. The Kenyans were very good and fast on counter attack,” Miguel said after the game.

“This is a learning process and therefore it is important that the coaches focus on ball retention while also focusing creating space and shooting,” Miguel said.
