Come Thursday next week, a mega party will be going down at the Kenyatta International Convention Center where Radio Maisha will be hosting the Choma Ngoma party. Here is some sneak peek on what awaits you:

The hottest video in town is Short and Sweet, a song by leading boy-band Sauti Sol and Nyashinski.

The song is the fifth video off the group’s collabo LP African Sauce. Now, Sauti Sol have promised to be releasing a song every week, collabos they have recorded with artistes from across the continent. In January, they released Girl Next Door, a love reggae jam featuring Tiwa Savage, one of Nigeria’s biggest female stars.

And come next week on Thursday, the group leads the cream of the entertainment industry at KICC where the much-anticipated Choma na Ngoma festival will be taking place. It will be a showdown like no other and it looks like every artiste who will be participating has released new projects this year. Willy Pozze who will be part of team has his new song Murder at the top of the charts. It will be the first major concert Willy Paul and Sauti Sol will be singing their new songs at.

Fena is another highlight in the all-stars line- up. Having won the Pulse Music Video Awards (PMVAs) last December, Fena is at the top of her game now and fans should expect nothing but pure thrill from her.

Then there is the clash between Khaligraph Jones and King Kaka, the top two rappers who have been battling to prove who owns the hip-hop throne. Will this be their night to end the debate once and for all? Who will drop the microphone first? This one is a wait-and-see adrenaline rush deal.

The Kansoul never disappoint and this will be yet another moment to see them get the party on as they treat Nairobians to the best of their hit songs.

Yemi Alade’s last month release Bum Bum, a dancehall jam, is almost at eight million views on YouTube and this too will be the platform where the Nigerian star showcases her singing prowess.

The all-night concert will be a social event where revellers will be treated to lots of African grills and drinks.

Since last week, the hype has been on with the Choma Ngoma convoy sneaking into Nairobi estates where fans have had a taste of what to expect on the D-day.

The Standard Group Head of Radio, Tom Japanni promises Kenyans a taste of the best in contemporary African music and cuisine.

He says Choma Na Ngoma is an opportunity to also thank the millions of Radio Maisha fans and partners who have driven the station to market leadership nationally.

“If you all like the best Africa has to offer musically, if you are looking for a way to usher in Madaraka Day in style and you’re a sucker for finger-licking-good African grills, then Choma Na Ngoma is the place for you. Come down to the KICC and let’s create something beautiful. The more, the merrier,” he said.

He adds: “We shall ensure ample parking space, enough security and a heavenly experience under the African sky right in the middle of the City in the Sun.”

Advance regular tickets go for Sh750 and Sh1,000 at the gate. Advance VIP tickets go for Sh2,500 and Sh3,000 at the gate.
