Kayole Starlet held Soccer Queens to a barren draw as the Football Kenya Federation Women Premier League second leg kicked off yesterday at Impala Sports Club.

Queens lost the first leg encounter 1-0 to Starlet and with a point yesterday, coach Amos Kimani says it’s a good start despite the challenges his team has faced.

“It was a good match and picking a point means it is a sign of good things in the second leg. We started the match well, creating chances but converting was a big problem.

“We are now focused on the return match against the defending champions Thika Queens. This will not be easy considering the fact that we are playing against a very good side. We need to sharpen our striking skills before the match,” Kimani said.

Soccer Queens missed the services of Sharon Adhiambo, Sharon Komulo and Tracy Atieno, who are out injured while Sharon Adhiambo and Stella Anyango are in camp with the U-20 team.

Starlet coach Joshua Sakwa complained that the match was not played within the required time.

“Match officials were not fair because we played 30 minutes in the first half and 37 minutes in the second half.

“We inquired and they said that the ground was to be used but we will complain to the federation,” he said.
