Former Gor Mahia and Re Union defender Charles ‘Soldier’ Handas died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment.
He also played for Coast Stars and later became a football referee.
He died while undergoing treatment at Nairobi West Hospital. Family sources said Handas had been diagnosed with a blood clot in his brain.
Those who sent their condolence messages include Kenya Football Coaches Association chairman Ricky Solomon. Handas played a key role in steering Coast Stars to higher heights since its inception in 1999 before it was disbanded.
