Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama took to social media to wish Kenyans a happy Jamhuri day.

The Kenyan superstar was part of Tottenham Hotspur which lost 1-0 to Manchester United on Sunday, and missed a golden opportunity to equalise early in the second half.

Wanyama posted this tweet that read: "Happy Jamhuri day to my fellow countrymen, let's all continue to work together and make our country proud."

There was plenty of excitement on his Twitter account, with his friends and fans across the world responding to his post with a thank you for happy Jamhuri day wishes and some questioning him on Tottenham’s defeat to Manchester United.
