Top AFC Leopards officials could be ejected from office after a section of members petitioned the Registrar of Societies to call for a Special General Meeting (SGM).
Incensed by troubles in the club, members wrote to the Registrar of Societies asking him to compel the current officials to convene the meeting.

In a letter dated January 5, the registrar asked officials to convene an SGM within 21 days.
“We have received a copy of a letter dated January 4, 2015, from your Ombudsman demanding for an SGM to address crisis in the club. The letter has attached the list of petitioners drawn from current membership.

While we appreciate the importance of such Special General Meeting (SGM), it is our proposal that the notice period be extended to 21 days, but response within seven days,” read a letter to AFC Leopards Secretary General George Aladwa, by Deputy Registrar of Societies, Joseph Onyango.

The notice comes three weeks after an Annual General meeting convened by the club to discuss the financial accounts aborted due to lack of quorum. AFC Leopards chairman Allan Kasavuli confirmed receiving the letter, but said a decision has not been made yet on when to hold the meeting.

“We just got the letter on Monday, January 5 and need to meet as an executive to deliberate on it before coming up with a date for the meeting, if there is need for it,” he said.

Kasavuli also revealed the club is about to sort out their problems with Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) to unblock their accounts so that they can pay their players.

The club has not paid players for three months, which has seen some of them demand for release letters to play elsewhere.
Defender James Situma is one of the players who has asked to be released and has approached Tusker to sign him.
