Azimio vows to 'publish genuine' election results

Speaking in Busia town, Raila said what was published were results per county which are not stipulated in the law.

"There are no County Returning Officers, the law only recognizes Constituency Returning Officers, and the results we are going to publish will reflect what was received from all the 210 constituencies," he said.

"Busia is not an electoral unit, and what is constitutionally recognized is resulting from the constituency, how come former IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati has not made public constituency results and published forged county results," he added.

The ODM leader scoffed at Azimio lawmakers who went to the State House and pledged to work with Ruto.

Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua said that Ruto should not claim that he inherited empty coffers when he took over power but must rise to the occasion and lower the cost of living.

"Every month, the government collects Sh173 billion as tax, and for the last six months, the government has collected Sh863 billion. Where is this money going to the extent the prices of basic commodities are skyrocketing daily," she said.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka said that Ruto has resorted to buying Azimio MPs using taxpayers' money.

Kalonzo said the President is buying MPs to remain relevant as he knows he has no numbers in Parliament.

"You went to Parliament through ODM, Wiper, Jubilee and other Azimio parties. This is political prostitution, if you want to join the government, seek a fresh mandate from the people," he said.

Jubilee Party Secretary General, Jeremiah Kioni, said he will de-whip Jubilee MPs who are now working with the government.
