In his amendments, the MP cites lack of gender and ethnic balance as ground s for rejection. He also wants President Uhuru stopped from poaching Opposition MPs without consulting the leadership of the Opposition.

President Uhuru nominated Malindi MP Dan Kazungu who was elected on an ODM ticket to be the Mining CS. The President previously nominated the now Interior CS Joseph Nakissery who was also an ODM MP.

If approved as proposed, the Cabinet will have 5 female members and 15 men a situation Wandayi says will flout the two-thirds gender rule.
