Ababu Namwamba knows 'Men in Black' deal, claims Reuben Ndolo

Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba

Nairobi, Kenya: Former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo Tuesday said ODM party leader Raila Odinga had nothing to do with the 'Men in Black' who disrupted party elections in February.

Mr Ndolo said, contrary to claims by Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba, Odinga did not know anything about the 'Men in Black' who caused violence leading to the cancellation of the ODM polls.

The former MP said he and former Nairobi Mayor George Aladwa hired the youth with the knowledge of Namwamba's line-up.

He was reacting to The Standard's lead story Tuesday where Namwamba was quoted criticising Odinga over his push for a referendum yet he mismanaged the ODM polls.

Ndolo challenged Namwamba to deny he was aware of the 'Men in Black' and their mission.

He claimed the chaos was caused after the Namwamba-led faction short-changed nominated MP Isaac Mwaura and himself by introducing Roza Buyu to their team at Kasarani.

"He should take responsibility for what happened at Kasarani because he was in the know. Let him come and deny that I warned him in Kakamega that chaos would erupt if he failed to stick to the gentleman's agreement on our team list," said Ndolo.

The former MP further challenged the Budalang'i legislator to come clean on his mission, claiming he was now being used by the Jubilee alliance to rock ODM from within ahead of the planned plebiscite.

"Last week, he attended the launch of signature collection at Ufungamano and he should now tell us what has changed since then. Let him also tell us who is paying for all those choppers he has been using of late," said Ndolo.

The Budalang'i legislator, in an uncharacteristic attack on his party boss, alleged there was a scheme to block him from the secretary general's post when the 'Men in Black' disrupted the elections on February 28 at Nairobi's Kasarani Sports Gymnasium.
