Police in Homa Bay County have arrested three men who allegedly murdered a 32-year-old man and robbed him of Sh9, 000.

Okeyo Obange was killed after a gang trailed him up to his home at Ang’eny village in Kojwach ward.

Residents found his body at the gate of his homestead on Saturday morning.

Area Chief James Oindi said that three suspects had been detained in relation to the murder on Sunday.

The deceased is said to have reportedly raised an alarm that some youths broke into his house and attempted to steal money.

Oindi said the man had visible injuries on various parts of the body.

“The man had injuries related to beatings and strangulation. Suspects in question about the death have been arrested,” he said.

Rachuonyo East Sub-County Police commander Charles Barasa said the suspects are being held at Oyugis Police Station.

Barasa said they are still hunting other suspects implicated in the heinous act.

“We are interrogating the suspects to reveal more information about the death and their accomplices,” Barasa said.

The body of the deceased was taken to Rachuonyo Sub County hospital mortuary in Oyugis town.
