Kindiki commissions Kutulo sub-county, Wajir promising devolved government services

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has officially commissioned Kutulo Sub County, Tarbaj Constituency, Wajir County promising devolved government services and beefing up of security in the area.

At the same time, Kindiki has installed Farah Hassan Mohamed as the first Deputy County Commissioner of the Sub-County Headquarters.

"This is in line with what President William Ruto promised during his campaigns in this region. We are looking forward to locals getting government services at their doorsteps and also we have plans to tarmac various roads in Wajir County to do away with the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attacks on the roads," Kindiki stated.

Among the promises Kindiki said the Kenya Kwanza government will fulfill include; the rehabilitation of the Isiolo, Modogashe - Wajir road, fast tracking on the issuance of Identification cards, and increased police patrols.

Tarbaj Member of Parliament Hussein Abdi Barre who was in attendance, challenged the locals to work with security apparatus and give information on suspicious characters or activities in the area noting that the President assured him of his visit to Wajir County soon.

Kotulo Sub-County was created in March 2022 and covers an approximate area of 6,594 square kilometers. The newly operationalized Sub-County with 2 Divisions, 12 Locations, and 19 Sub-Locations has a population of 28,167 people according to the 2019 National Housing and Population Census.
