China's Vice President Han Zheng is in Kenya for a four-day official visit, which includes a tour of Nairobi National Park.
Accompanied by Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Rebecca Miano, and local dignitaries, including comedian Eddie Butita, Han Zheng explored the park, taking in Kenya's rich wildlife and biodiversity.
He was seen marvelling at iconic animals such as lions, giraffes, and rhinos.
The visit highlights the deep ties between China and Kenya, which span more than seven decades. Han Zheng, who arrived in Nairobi on March 21, also held high-level talks on trade, investment, and infrastructure projects, including the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).
These discussions aim to strengthen bilateral cooperation amid China's growing influence in Africa.
Rebecca Miano expressed gratitude on her Instagram page, thanking Han Zheng for experiencing Kenya's natural wonders.
"As we watched our majestic lions and rhinos against the iconic Nairobi skyline, we discussed the deep-rooted partnership between Kenya and China in wildlife conservation and sustainable tourism. China remains a key source market for our tourism sector, and this visit reaffirms our commitment to sharing the magic of Kenya with the world," she wrote.
The park tour served as a cultural bridge, promoting #MagicalKenya tourism while highlighting conservation efforts.
Online, netizens reacted humorously, poking holes into his visit.
@madollar.254.d3n teased that he was in the country to introduce artificially intelligent animals, "Anataka kuleta wanyama AI."
Another, @princeoffkenya hit out at his home country's cuisine, "anashindwa mbona tumefuga food."
The visit is part of Han's broader African tour, reinforcing partnerships in sustainable development and economic growth.
